January 27, 2014

Well family and friends! Howdy from the ice skating rink.
For the past week I have been literally ice skating from the minute I set my foot out the door till the minute I get home. We are having this freak heat wave for Alaska this time of year. Man the temperature has been so nice. One day it even got up to 50 degress! Can you believe that? Sadly, because the weather is so warm all of the snow is melting which is causing the roads to become very very icy. Two day this past week we had to stay inside for about 5 hours because the roads were so bad. I would like to say that I successfully stayed on my feet all week until yesterday afternoon. As we were walking down a street I all of the sudden yelled...I AM GOING DOWN! And sure enough I went down hard. Sadly today my back/butt are pretty dang bruised. Lets all pray for a speedy recovery! I can't wait for summer, so I can walk however I want and not have to waddle like a penguin everywhere I go.
Here is the biggest miracle of the week. We have had this investigator B for a while. Last week her appendix burst inside her and she has been in the hospital for about a week. The day we came home we dropped off some flowers for her. She started talking to us and wanted to know when she could get baptized. She wanted to know the soonest possible date because apparently when she went in and out of consiousness she saw heaven. She knew that is was the right thing for her to do. We told her that she had to come to church twice.So... With her a huge wound on her stomach she came to church. She is getting baptized on February 8th! She loves the gospel. I love her progressing and coming closer to the Savior. Oh man am I just so happy!
Here is another miracle. A less active member in our ward refered us to their neighbor. He said that her and her family could use some happiness in their lives. We went over to their home and asked if wen could share a message about Jesus Christ. They let us in and we taught the whole first lesson about the restoration! They absolutely loved it! They said that the fact that there is a prophet means that the Lord hasn't given up on his people. We are teaching them about the plan of salvation this week. I am so pumped. The Lord is really preparing people for us to teach! This week we had 34 lessons! The work is hastening in the Inlet View ward! Right as we where walking out of our lesson with that family we ran into a former investigator that wants to take the lessons again. Right after that we talked to a lady and she wants to hear our message. We are so busy and I absolutely love it!

I feel like everyone and their dog has a cat in Anchorage. If you know me I you know I have a HUGE fear of cats. Man oh man I swear every house we walk into the cat makes a b line for me. It's the worst! I will never never ever own cat! EVER!

I pray for you all every day! I love you so much :) YOu are all the best. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement!
